Mission

The South Carolina Chapter of the Naval Submarine League serves the states of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. The chapter holds monthly luncheon meetings in Charleston.

The chapter supports the NPS quarterly graduation and makes the NSL awards at each event. Chapter members also present awards at area university NROTC ceremonies. Members are active in supporting the submarine force in the local Charleston area and other cities in our area.

The Cold War Memorial, supported by the Chapter, was built through the hard work of several chapter members.  It serves as a vibrant reminder of the service the submarine force played during the Cold War. It highlights the service of many nuclear and diesel powered submarines. Special contributions of both Attack and Nuclear Missile submarines are covered in an interesting and informative way. Submarine benches serve to commemorate service in individual submarines.

We also support the strong SubVets organization in Charleston which is a very strong chapter with over 300 members. We hold joint luncheons on occasion with the Naval Academy Alumni Association and many members are also members of the local chapter of the Navy League.
